2018OICMA Tokyo Concert
2018 Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Tokyo Concert was successfully completed on July 31 at the Toppan Hall.
Coming back to Tokyo after Okushiga Concert(July 28) and Yamanouchi JHS Concert(July 30), 5 groups of quartets and 1 quintet by the academy students performed a chamber musical piece as each assignment in order.
Finally all the students and 3 tutors showed ensemble music conducted by Seiji Ozawa – Beethoven, String Quartet No.16 in F major, Op. 135, 3rd mov. – and received enthusiastic ovation.
Ozawa Concert for Yamanouchi Junior High School
Seiji Ozawa holds “Ozawa Concert” at Yamanouchi Junior High School every summer for young people’s wonderful music experience. Though he was absent for the 33rd Concert considering the rest of tour schedule, 25 OICMA students performed chamber musical pieces for people of Yamanouchi town.
After their performance, Yamanouchi JHS students showed off the chorus of thanks. At the end of the concert all the students and audience sang and played the school song together and shared warm atmosphere.
2018OICMA Okushiga Concert
The 33rd Ozawa International Chamber Music Academy Okushiga Concert was successfully completed on July 28 at the Music Hall of Okushiga Kogen Hotel
6 groups of quartets by the academy students performed a chamber musical piece as each assignment in order. All the students and 3 tutors then showed ensemble music conducted by Seiji Ozawa coming back after 9 months rest.
About 300 people of the audience, who has been supporting the OICMA in Okushiga and who is looking forward to the concert every year, sincerely enjoyed the performance and shared wonderful atmosphere.
2018 OICMA will be completed on July 31 in Tokyo concert.
Let us enjoy their last splended performance at Toppan Hall in Tokyo.
